Privacy Policy and Data Protection

Service und Marketing GmbH

We take data protection seriously

We appreciate your interest in our organization and our products and services and want you to feel secure when you visit our web pages, in particular as regards the protection of your personal data. We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. For us, it is a matter of course that we fully comply with the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz).

We want you to be informed about which data we collect and when, and how we employ it. We have taken technical and organizational measures to ensure that we fully comply with the data-protection regulations.

Personal data

Personal data is information about your identity. It includes, among other things, details such as your name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address. For you to use our web page it is basically not necessary that you give us your personal data. In certain situations, however, we require your name and your address as well as certain other information in order to be able to offer you the services you desire. The same applies, for example, when we send informative material and ordered goods to you, or when we answer individual questions. When this is the case, we will specifically point this out to you. Beyond that, we will only store and process data which you have voluntarily or automatically put at our disposal.

In the event that you enlist our services, we – as a rule – will only collect the data which we require in order to render you these services. Should we ask you for further data, this will only be voluntarily provided information. The processing of personal data will only serve to render you the desired service and to safeguard our legitimate business interests.

Purposes for which your personal data will be used

The personal data which you have put at our disposal will be used in order to be able to answer your enquiries, to process your orders, or to enable you to access certain information or offers.

Appropriated use of your personal data

We will collect, process and use the personal data you have put at our disposal only for the purposes we have informed you about. A passing-on of your personal data to third parties will not occur without your consent.

Collecting personal data and passing it on to state institutions and authorities entitled to receive such information will only occur within the framework of the relevant laws, or if we have been obliged to do so through the decision of a court of law. Our employees and the service companies engaged by us have been obliged to maintain secrecy and to fully comply with the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz).

Non-personal data which is automatically recorded

When you use our web page, the following data will be stored for organizational and technical reasons: the names of the called-up pages, the used browser and the operating system; date and time of access; the used search engines; the name of the downloaded files; and your IP address. We will evaluate this technical data anonymously and only for statistical purposes in order to continuously optimize our Internet presence and to make our Internet service even more attractive. This anonymous data is stored in secured systems separate from personal data and does not allow conclusions to be drawn about individual persons. Your personal data and your privacy are thus protected at all times.

When you visit one of our web sites, it can happen that we have placed information on your computer in the form of cookies. Cookies are little text files which are sent by a web server to your browser and stored on the hard disk of your computer. In this case, absolutely no personal data of the user is stored – only the Internet Protocol address. This information serves to automatically recognize you when you revisit one of our web sites and to facilitate your navigation. Cookies make it possible, for example, to adapt a web site to your particular interests, or to store your access code so that you do not have to enter it every time.

Of course you can visit our web sites without cookies. If you do not want us to recognize your computer, you can prevent the placing of cookies on your hard disk by selecting the appropriate setting (e.g. “do not accept cookies”) on your browser. Please check the instructions of your browser to find out how this works in your case. If you should decide not to accept cookies, however, this could lead to functional restrictions of our services.

Data security

We have taken technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data from loss, corruption, manipulation and unauthorized access. All our employees and all third parties involved in the processing of data are obliged to fully comply with the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz) and to deal with personal data in a strictly confidential manner. When we collect and process personal data, we transfer the information in coded form in order to prevent improper use of the data by third parties. Our security measures are constantly revised in accordance with technological development.

Changes in our data-protection regulations

We reserve the right to make changes in our security and data-protection measures if this becomes necessary on account of technological developments. In such cases, we will adjust our information regarding data protection accordingly. For this reason, please always check the current version of our privacy policy.

If you use external links that are offered within the framework of our Internet pages, this privacy policy does not apply to these links. When we offer links, we do our best to ensure that these are also in line with our data-protection and security standards.
